Seller Agreement
By creating a store or listing items on BoxNear, you agree to this Seller Agreement in addition to our Terms of Service.
1. Store account
Only one store per owner account. You may add store employees; employees can create listings, redeem pickup codes, and manage the store's operational data. Payout settings, Stripe Connect onboarding, and store deletion remain restricted to the owner.
2. Listing accuracy
- Listings must accurately describe the item, quantity, condition, and pickup location.
- You may edit the AI-suggested fields produced by the Smart Scanner before publishing; final listing accuracy is your responsibility.
- Duplicate listings (same store, title, size, price) submitted within 60 seconds are blocked automatically to prevent double-posting.
- Listings may be posted as unit-priced (quantity × unit price) or as a lot (one bundle for a single lot price).
3. Fulfillment
- You must be reachable at the pickup location during the pickup window you set.
- You must verify each buyer by scanning or entering their six-digit pickup code before releasing items.
- You may not require any payment outside BoxNear for items sold through the platform.
4. Payments and fees
- BoxNear charges a 30% platform fee on the gross of each paid transaction, deducted at the time of charge via Stripe Connect destination charges.
- The remaining amount (gross minus the platform fee) is transferred to your connected Stripe account.
- Stripe payment-processing fees are separate from the BoxNear platform fee. See Payment Processing Policy.
5. Stripe Connect requirement
To accept paid orders you must complete Stripe Connect Express onboarding and agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Free listings do not require Stripe onboarding. See Stripe Connect Disclosure.
6. Refunds and disputes
- You may issue full or partial refunds on your own orders through the platform. Refunds proportionally reverse the platform fee and the transfer.
- When Stripe reports a chargeback, the reservation is placed on a payout hold and flagged for review.
- See Refund Policy and Dispute Resolution.
7. Verification and trust
BoxNear computes a verification level (unverified, email, phone, trusted, verified business, payout) and a trust tier (new seller, trusted seller, verified business, top spot) from your account data, uploaded documents, ratings, and pickup history. These may change automatically as your account activity evolves. See Identity & Business Verification.
8. Taxes
You are solely responsible for determining, collecting, reporting, and remitting any sales, use, income, or other taxes applicable to your sales. Stripe may issue tax forms (such as Form 1099-K) directly based on your Stripe account activity.
9. Prohibited conduct
You may not list items covered by the Prohibited Items Policy, misrepresent your business, direct buyers off-platform to avoid the platform fee, retaliate against reviewers, or misuse buyer contact information.
10. Termination
BoxNear may remove listings, pause your store, or terminate your seller account for violations. Outstanding funds are handled per Stripe's rules for the connected account. See Suspension & Termination.
