Buyer Agreement
This Buyer Agreement applies whenever you reserve or pick up items through BoxNear.
1. Reservations
- A paid reservation is created when you submit payment. Your card is charged and the item quantity is held for you.
- Free reservations (for free listings) work the same way without a charge.
- Pending, unpaid reservations expire automatically after 30 minutes.
2. Pickup code
After payment is confirmed you receive a unique six-digit pickup code. Present the code to the seller at pickup — the seller enters or scans it to release the items. Do not share your code with anyone else; a redeemed code cannot be reused.
3. Pickup window
You must pick up during the pickup window shown on the listing. If you cannot make it, contact the seller through the platform. Repeated no-shows may negatively affect your account.
4. Inspection at pickup
Because items are picked up in person, you have the opportunity to inspect them before leaving. If quantity or condition materially differs from the listing, raise the issue on-site and, if unresolved, open a support ticket promptly — see Dispute Resolution.
5. No shipping
BoxNear is a local pickup marketplace. Sellers are not obligated to ship items and BoxNear does not arrange delivery.
6. Payments
Payment is processed by Stripe. BoxNear does not receive or store your full card number. See Payment Processing Policy.
7. Refunds and cancellations
See Refund Policy and Cancellation Policy. Sellers may refund you directly; BoxNear administrators may also issue refunds when appropriate.
8. Reviews
After pickup you may leave a rating and short review of the seller. Reviews must be truthful and reflect your actual experience. See User-Generated Content Policy.
9. Prohibited use
You may not reserve items you don't intend to pick up, share pickup codes, or use the platform to harass sellers or other buyers. See Acceptable Use Policy.
